In this January 2022 newsletter, you will find the exciting announcement of MassAIMH Endorsement® now being offered in Spanish too and DC 0-5 statewide training opportunities, along with resources for caregivers.

What is Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health?

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) is the developing capacity from birth to 6 to experience, regulate, and express emotions; to form close relationships; and to explore the environment and learn, all in the context of family, community, and cultural expectations for young children.

Diversity-Informed Tenets

Our work is grounded in the Diversity-Informed Tenets for Work with Infants, Children and Families (Tenets) which serves as a compass for operationalizing our policies and practices.

MassAIMH IECMH Endorsement®
MassAIMH Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement® is a nationally recognized credential that highlights acknowledgement of specialized knowledge and expertise for professionals working with or on behalf of families with young children.

Announcement!

MassAIMH Endorsement® now offered in Spanish

We are so excited for this and extend a warm welcome to Veronica Rosa-Sandoval, Spanish Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement Coordinator

Hola! My name is Veronica Rosa-Sandoval. I am your very first Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement Central Service Coordinator with over ten years of experience in the field of IECMH. I have a master’s degree in Social Work and an Infant Mental Health Specialist Endorsement.  During the course of my career, I have worked extensively with “high-risk communities” for many non-profit agencies proudly serving throughout Wayne Metro Detroit. I am certified to train professionals in using the Preschool and Early Childhood Functional Assessment Scale and have extensive comprehensive knowledge in Early Childhood Development & Developmental Delays. One of my biggest accomplishments has been advocating for the BIPOC community, by using my Spanish bilingual skills to bring awareness around topics that affect those who are impacted by inequalities. I am a firm believer that it is our job as professionals and human beings to bring more awareness around Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. Some people may call me “spitfire”, but I say I am just passionate! I hope to continue helping the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health and MassAIMH grow innovatively while maintaining my authenticity. I aspire to keep building connections and professional relationships while collaborating with associates from all AIMHs.

¡Hola!
